In July 2008 a decision was made to merger BUSA the organisation that provides the competitive framework in higher education and UCS the body that represents professional staff in the sector, thus leading to a new organisation for Higher Education Sport which is still yet to be named. The new body will progressively come into being from Jan 2008 with two bodies ceasing to exist from June 2008.
