Welcome

The Association of SFA Referees Edinburgh and District is affiliated to the Scottish Football Association and is responsible for bringing together, developing and recruiting football referees in the City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders.  We hold regular monthly meetings, weekly training sessions at three venues and many other events to promote refereeing in our area throughout the year. Reporting Misconduct: Some local youth leagues have "tick box" style reports or accept abbreviated reports.  Whilst this is acceptable for these leagues, any member who is appointed to a match in the Scottish Cup or the Regional Cup organised by the SYFA must ensure that all cautions are reported on the standard SFA misconduct form.  If you have any questions in relation to this, or require guidance on any reports, please contact a member of the Referee Instruction Team.

Want to take up refereeing?

One of the most important roles for our Association is the recruitment and development of new referees. Every match from minor grade youth football to the FIFA World Cup Final needs a referee and there has never been a better time to get involved in this vital area of the game.  If you are interested in becoming a referee then please go to our Coaching page for the latest information on forthcoming classes for new entrants.
