Youngsters from our Under 8's and Under 9's were taking penalties at Adams Park last Saturday afternoon The HT Eagles and HT Hawks had their own shoot out during the half time break in the big match between Wycombe Wanderers and Bradford City. Some of them hit the back of the net, others missed the target and the goalies also made a few saves. However that all didn't seem to matter as the kids enjoyed their day out on the "big stage". This is the first time for a good number of years that HTJFC has had the opportunity to take part in this event and they couldn't have chosen a much bigger game with Wycombe lying 2nd in League Two taking on Bradford who were 4th. Wycombe Wanderers won an excellent game 1-0 in front of a large crowd of over five thousand people. Well done to all the HTJFC youngsters taking part and we hope they had a fun day out at Wycombe Wanderers. Thanks to Helen Shakespeare the Eagles team manager for organising the day out and giving our youngsters this wonderful opportunity.

Tuesday 18 November 2008 - 20:37:30 in Website News
Alan Massey and Gavin James are now both on the books of Wealdstone FC, who play in the Ryman Premier League.
Both Alan and Gavin played for HT Rose Avenue for many years and regular readers of this website will know how we followed Alan's time at Wycombe Wanderers initially in the youth team and then when he made it into the first team squad last season.
Now at Wealdstone, where he previously spent some time on loan, Alan seems to have found a regular position in their defence making 19 appearances so far this season. He even managed to score 2 goals in a league match when his team had a 4-0 home win over Sutton United.
Gavin has so far just made 6 starts but in those games has scored 3 goals of which one was a penalty.
If you know of any other former Holy Trinity Juniors who have gone on to make the "big time" then do let me know. email to alancecil@gorsewalk.freeserve.co.uk

HT Angels our Under 14's Girls team, are in need of a goalkeeper. If you are a girl goalie aged 12, 13 or 14, then please contact Karen Barr on HW 814744 Last Saturday HT Angels had a 5-5 draw in their home match vs Ruislip Under 14 Girls coming back from 2-5 down. Here is their managers report of that exciting game.
THE ANGELS COME OF AGE
HT Angels vs Ruislip RangersSaturday 8 November We defy anyone to say girl’s football is no where near as exciting or physical as boy’s after our game on Saturday! From kick-off, it was obvious that both teams were up for a good game. Despite the pouring rain, the game was played with pace and accurate passing. First blood was drawn by HT Angels – following some great passing from midfield (Katie-May Watts and Fiona Bennell), it was left down to our new striker, Brianna Gumb to slot the ball in the back of the net. 1-0 From the kick-off Ruislip put great pressure onto the Angels defence which held at first but through perseverance, Ruislip equalised. 1-1 The Angels picked themselves up and carried on with some great football both in attack and defence. End to end football had all supporters cheering for their own teams which really lifted the players’ morale. The deadlock was broken with another great goal from Brianna. 2-1 Ruislip came back even stronger from the kick-off and eventually levelled the score by chipping the keeper (Gabi Barr). 2-2 Angels picked themselves up again and played some excellent football. The pitch condition was starting to have an effect and our defence began to struggle with clearing the ball. Ruislip pushed very hard and scored 3 goals in quick succession! 5-2 This was when the Angels came of age. The girls didn’t lose heart and kept their team spirit together. Although this is their first season for playing offside, they have quickly picked up keep a straight line in defence (Alice Pattison/Georgia Sutton, Madi Fox and Emma Dugdale). This was very evident when Ruislip broke on a couple of occasions, only to be caught offside when playing the final ball. Half time: following an upbeat half time team talk, it was decided to make a tactical change that proved to be worth its weight in gold. Fiona Bennell agreed to swop with Gabi Barr and go in goal. The second half continued where the first half had finished off. Both team attacked and defended with vigour. The Angels were determined not to let the game go and raised their game. Soon, they were on the attack again and this time Ilona Livarski slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 3-5. Was this the start of an amazing comeback? Tackles were coming in hard and fast but were mostly legal – Emily Pattison in midfield did a great job of holding off a very persistent and weighty opponent. It was evident that choosing to play uphill in the first half proved an advantage for our girls and a struggle for Ruislip as they started to slow down. We never stopped our attack and eventually broke down their defence with Ilona getting her second goal of the match. 4-5 With Gabi back in defence and some great tackling, supported alternately by Madi Fox and Sianna Maclean in centre mid, the crowd was going mad. With only a few minutes to go and the adrenalin flowing, a great kick from Fiona in goal was picked up by Brianna and definitely hit the back of the net to give her a hat-trick. 5-5 Still the girls continued to fight and narrowly missed the winning goal when it came off Ruislip’s post and couldn’t be followed through. All in all it was an incredibly exciting match and great sportsmanship was shown by both teams. Karen Barr and Gary Watts

Planning applications have gone into the Wycombe District Council for a new Hazlemere Sports and Social Pavilion.
There are two applications, one costing £550,000 and the other a slightly larger scheme at a price of £850,000. Which one proceeds will also depend on the level of funding received by way of a Football Foundation grant in support of the funds the local authority is providing.
WE NEED YOU NOW to add your positive comments to these plans, particularly to option 1 the 800m2 size building.
Click Here to add your comments. Please do so by Tuesday 18th November. Once you are in the WDC application, then the last tab "Associated Docs" has the most useful information on the application detail.

We believe we have found the start date of Holy Trinity Juniors Football Club.
Our President Peter Green has found an old diary with an entry for Saturday 13th October 1990, listed as "Football 9.30 to 11am". His son Russell started school that year and Peter started up the football club with his son's class.
In which case Holy Trinity Juniors is now 18 years old!

Club sets membership record

Wednesday 29 October 2008 - 11:19:41 in Website News
We are delighted to report that we have set a new record for club membership with 259 registered players so far signed on for season 2008-09.
This number which exceeds last seasons previous record of 252, encompasses all ages from the Under 6's Academy right up to the Under 16 Girls and Boys teams.
The club database shows that these 259 children come from 52 different schools!
Our Academy continues to prove very popular with 19 new children already signed up and we are grateful to the group of parents who oversee this each week. From last year's Academy, we now have two Under 7 teams, the HT Knights and the HT Mariners (the latter name probably reflecting the affiliation of one certain grandad to his beloved team!)
Thanks again to all who continue to make Saturdays so special for so many of our local youngsters.
