Club Details

Having played previously in other South London Leagues, most recently the McCabe Travel South London Christian League, Drummond Rovers joined the Bromley + Croydon Christian Football League in 2001.

Drummond Rovers are a church based team from City Hope Church in Bermondsey. The present day team was established in the mid 1980's , originally called Vineyard FC, but the club can trace it's history back far longer than that. They changed their name to Drummond Rovers after finding an old black and white photo, dated 1905, of the original drummond Rovers team holding a trophy, something the current squad has enjoyed for the past three consecutive years, winning the 2004-2005 Mike Laxton Cup, the second division title in 2005-2006 and finishing as runners-up in the 2007 pre-season 5-a-side tournament. A disappointing 2007/2008 season saw Drummond finish without a trophy and just avoid relegation in the last match of the season, but they are hoping to put that right in 2008/9 with the general feeling in the squad being that they current squad is the best they've had for some time!
