Hankook Verdes of San Ignacio broke a 23 year drought by winning the 2008 RFG Cup football championship. Verdes followed up on a 1-1 draw with the Belize Defense Force in Game 1, by winning Game 2 by a score of 1-zip at the Norman Broaster Stadium on Sunday.
