Dallas Texans Soccer Club partners with positive coaching alliance

Focuses on winning and life lessons for youth athletes

November 6, 2008 Plano, Texas– The Dallas Texans Soccer Club has established a partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to ensure a positive, character-building experience for all youth athletes in the Dallas Texans Soccer Club programs. PCA (www.PositiveCoach.org), a Stanford University-based non-profit organization, conducts workshops for coaches, organizational leaders, and parents involved in schools and sports organizations serving five-to-18-year-old athletes. PCA also provides workshops for high school athletes.

“Working with hundreds of youth sports organizations around the United States, PCA has developed practical tools and guidelines to help youth athletes, their coaches and parents get the most out of sports,” said Hassan Nazari, Founder of the Dallas Texans Soccer Club. “We recognize the tremendous opportunity for character-building that sports offers for today’s youth, so we are embracing PCA’s Double-Goal CoachTM model, where winning is one goal and teaching life lessons is the second, more-important goal.”

“We are delighted to partner with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club,” said PCA Executive Director Jim Thompson. “Together, we’ll strive to help their youth athletes take a positive approach to pursuing victories in athletic competition and in life.”

The Dallas Texans are the first youth sports club in North Texas to adopt the PCA program. The workshops are scheduled to begin in January 2009.

Dallas Texans Soccer Club Ranked
#1 in Boys and Ranked #2 in Girls

"I would like to thank Soccer America for noticing the hard work that youth clubs around the country are putting into their programs. This truly is an honor for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club players, parents and coaches. An accomplishment like this will help soccer clubs, such as the Texans, to attract more serious soccer players and more dedicated parents," said Hassan Nazari, founder and director of the Dallas Texans. "What I like the most about this honor is that it does not only recognize the wins and losses, but it looks at the development of the youth player. Being successful in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series and constantly producing and developing youth players for the state and regional US Youth Soccer ODP teams as well as the national and college teams will help our club to be noticed. Once again, on behalf of the Dallas Texans coaching staff, players, parents and volunteers, I would like to thank Soccer America for this great honor."
Hassan Nazari, Club Founder and DOC
