Former BESA player, Daniel Woolard, is now playing for the Chicago Fire. Woolard was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft and through the preseason worked his way toward a position on the Developmental Roster. Woolard made the most of his opportunity in the 2007 MLS Reserve Division, working toward first team minutes. The 23-year old Bedford, Texas native became a presence in the Reserve Division, registering the second most starts and games played, primarily as a left back. Convincing the coaching staff with his solid man-marking, the Midwestern State University product made his Fire first team debut and received his first taste of international action with the "Men in Red" against Mexican Primera División side Cruz Azul, putting in a solid 90 minute effort. Now in his second season, Woolard will continue to display strong work ethic and hard-nosed defensive work in 2008. Wollard attended Trinity High School in Euless and was a top defensive player for Midwestern State University. He ranks second for career starts at MSU with 80. He also played two seasons for the USL Premier Development League's DFW Tornadoes, logging 14 games in 2006 and a pair of contests in 2005. Volunteer positions are available. If you are Interested in making BESA a positive experience for children playing soccer, please contact Julie Laverty, President or Sandra Nasr, Association Secretary.
