London Maccabi Lions are pleased to announce that a new committee has been appointed to take over the running of the senior and junior sections of the football club. The founding fathers, Messrs Newman, Kyte, Wise and Lewis who have expertly run the Club for the past 25 years and established it as the UK’s No.1 Jewish football club are handing over the reins so that they can focus their efforts on other areas of the Club and also furthering London Maccabi at Rowley Lane as the top sporting facility in the South East, plans for which include building a floodlit astroturf facility and new clubhouse. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their efforts along with all managers, coaches and players past and present for their hard work in getting the Lions to where we are today.
The new committee aims is to ensure that the Club remains at the forefront of Jewish football whilst returning closer to its roots by being more than just twenty junior teams and seven individual senior football teams. By encouraging the highest standards both on and off the pitch in the way in which our teams act and in the way they are coached and the style in which they play, we hope to continue to be competitive on the pitch and leaders off it. We are confident that with the support of the players and the wider Lions family we can ensure that London Maccabi Lions continues to be ‘the Club to play for’ for many years to come.
