SJFL TOURNAMENT - BISHOPS LYDERAD 23rd NOVEMBER 2008
Host Club: Bishops Lydeard F.C.
Date: Sunday 23rd November 2008
Aller Park Under 7s and Under 8s enjoyed another great day at today's Bishops Lydeard Tournament. In cold and windy conditions the boys (and girl!) kept themselves warm by scoring lots of goals and playing great football!
Congratulations to all the players today on another round of excellent performances and for their good behaviour. You are a credit to the Club. Thank you.
Our U8s have been invited to play in an International Tournament in Holland on the 11th April 2008, Easter Saturday (Thanks to Steve Dury!).
The host Club is SVV Scheveningen who Benoit used to play for before he hit the big time at Aller Park!
Steve D has got some prices for camping and the cost is approx 22 euros per night for a family tent.
We need to know how many families are interested in going to Holland for the tournament before confirming our place, the tournament is being held close to The Hague, in Holland.
Can you please see Steve Dury on Sunday if you have any questions and let Nick know if you are interested.
Thank you.

We all know kids love football, but did you know they’re just as keen on Footee?!
Thousands of children across the country are playing BAFTA-winning Footee at www.thefa.com/Footee - a fabulous free site where kids aged 7-11 can improve their Maths, English and Science through over 250 fantastic football-based games. But that’s not all...
By playing the games, the children earn footballs and with those footballs they can buy players like Rooney or Gerrard for their Fantasy Footee team.
They can enter their team in leagues and cups against other teams and hope for title glory! The thing is, to get better players to increase their chance of glory, they need more balls and to get more balls they need to play more games and the games help them with schoolwork – genius? They soon will be!
RESULT - ALLER PARK 1 - 2 BRISTOL ROVERS ACADEMY - 25th OCTOBER 2008
Date: Saturday 25th October 2008 Squad: Cameron, Josh, Edward, Jake, Arthur G, Tom, Arthur B, Daniel, Shaun A, Matt, Finlay, Levi, Scott.
Aller Park U9s hosted Bristol Rovers Academy this morning and played four games of 20 mins each. Bristol Rovers started much the better of both teams and showed some slick passing and movement early on and after a 10 minute period of consistent pressure they were soon two goals to the good. Once the boys got the pace of the game they closed down much quicker and finished the first period holding their own.
The next two periods our players gave as good as they got and produced some excellent passing moves and created a number of chances, but both the Rovers goalies thwarted our advances and with our own keepers also making some good saves the next two periods finshed 0-0.
Into the last period and our lads now had the measure of their counterparts and quickly created some excellent passing moves down both wings only again for the keeper to produce some fine saves. But a fine passing movement from defence to attack set up a chance and Daniel slotted home. A penalty was awarded late on for Aller Park but only a brilliant save from the Rovers keeper kept the score to 1-0 to the home side.
All in all a very good game of football to watch and from the players faces and enthusiasm an enjoyable game to play in. Well done to all the players and suppporters on both sides an excellent mornings football (Even the ref had a good game!!!!) A special thanks to Jo Morrison for the much needed sausage and chips after.
UNDER 8s NEW KIT
Thank you to POSH DOGZ for sponsoring the Under 8s new kit this season. (Please see sponsors page for more details on Posh Dogz)
The boys look very smart in their new kit and we would ask parents only to let their children wear the kit on matchdays.
Thank you.
FA's RESPECT CAMPAIGN
Welcome to Respect
Aller Park Juniors fully supports the FA's RESPECT Campaign and will continue to provide a friendly & safe environment for our children to play football. We will be asking all players, coaches and parents to sign the Respect Campaigns Codes of Conduct to ensure we do all we can to make playing football a fun experience for the players of Aller Park.
The Somerset Junior Football League has recently joined up to the Respect Campaign and in future all tournaments will have a barrier around the pitch and we ask our parents and spectators to stay outside the barrier.
Respect is The FA's programme of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in our game at every level - on the pitch and from the sidelines.
This was the No.1 priority emerging from the biggest opinion survey to date of grassroots football in England. It was carried out in late 2007 and directly informed The FA's National Game Strategy, published in March 2008.
We hope that Respect will ensure a safe, positive environment for everyone to enjoy football. From the start it will have an impact on the following areas:
Referee recruitment and retention: By tackling abuse towards match officials, we hope to reduce the stream of referees understandably leaving the game.
Participation within youth football: Abuse and pressure from the sidelines needs to stop if we are to ensure young children enjoy, stay and progress in the game.
Coaching and player development: An encouraging and player-centred approach is vital if we are to improve coaching standards - particularly for the key 5-11 age-group. It's simple: better coaches produce better players.
Safeguarding children: Everyone in football has a duty of care towards children - ensuring they are able to play football in a safe, enjoyable environment free of abuse, bullying and discrimination.
Improving behaviour is a whole-game issue and the 2008-09 season will see the Respect programme introduced at professional and grassroots levels.
