Illinois Youth Soccer is an official State Association and charter member of the US Soccer Federation and US Youth Soccer. Illinois Youth Soccer is the administrative body authorized to carry out the Federation's and US Youth Soccer's programs to amateur youth players in Illinois. Programs include: Olympic Development Program (ODP), Illinois State Cup/US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, Illinois Cup, Copa Chicago, Chicago International Invitational, Chicago Beach Soccer Tournament, Inner City Programs, Soccer Expo, Network News, Coaching Education and Referee Education. Illinois Youth Soccer is Illinois’ largest youth sport organization with over 90,000 players.

Special Coaching Courses With Chicago Storm
Illinois Youth Soccer and the Chicago Storm, the professional indoor soccer team, will hold a special U8-U10 Youth Module Course prior to the Chicago Storm game on January 4. Participants will not only run thru the course curriculm and receive a ticket for the game but also participate in a special pre and post-game discussion with Storm head coach Steve Morris. REGISTRATION FOR THIS COURSE MUST BE DONE BY DECEMBER 12 and additional ticket at reduced prices can be purchased up to Dec. 22. Click here to register for this course or other special Illinois Youth Soccer / Chicago Storm Coaching Courses being held on February 28, March 1 and April 5. have reached a partnership agreement. Illinois Youth Soccer will host coaching courses prior to Storm home games on January 4, February 28, March 1 and April 5.
State Cup Team Eligibility
To be eligible for the Illinois State Cup please refer to Illinois Youth Soccer Association Rule 023 specifically the section on "Team Eligibility - To be eligible to participate in the .... 5. The team must compete in an Illinois Youth Soccer Association affiliated league during the current soccer year. With the exception of the U19 age group the league competition must consist of a minimum of one(1) game against not less than three (3) different teams participating in the league each available season of the soccer year...."
2009 Tournament Host Sanctioning is Now Available
The Illinois Youth Soccer Tournament sanctioning process has changed significantly and the Application is now available. Any club that is in good standing and that has teams currently registered with Illinois Youth Soccer can apply to host a sanctioned tournament in Illinois. Please contact Fran at statecup@illinoisyouthsoccer.org.
Illinois Youth Soccer sanctioned tournaments guarantee teams that the tournament is of the highest quality and that it abides by strict risk management guidelines. IYSA sanctioned tournaments are advertised FREE OF CHARGE on the IYSA website, on US Youth Soccer's website to over 3 million members, and in the IYSA Network News to over 60,000 members.

IYSA Offers On-line Background Searches
As another service to our members, Illinois Youth Soccer has partnered with e7sports to enable you to conduct a convenient, on-line background search that includes a national, state, and county criminal and sex offenders search. Simply click on the Background Search option in the left column and proceed. Your individual credit card will be charged $5.00 for the search. From the drop-down list, you may direct your search results to your League, or Referee office, or for tournament team coaches, the IYSA office.
Illinois State Cup & Illinois Cup
We are now accepting applications for the Official Illinois Cup and Illinois State Cup. Do not confuse Illinois Youth Soccer Association’s Illinois State Cup and Illinois Cup with other similarly named league tournaments. The Illinois State Cup and Illinois Cup are the officially recognized state-wide tournaments that have been in existence for the past 41 years. The Illinois State Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. This year nearly 600 teams participated in the Illinois State Cup and Illinois Cup. Approximately 185,000 players on 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer’s 55 State Associations participated in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. The champions in the U13-19 age divisions advance to compete in the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regionals against the State Cup champions from the other 13 state associations in the Midwest. The regional champions in the U14-19 age groups compete in the US Youth Soccer National Championships against the regional winners from the other three regions: East, West and South. The State Cup and Illinois Cup are also part of our Olympic Development Program player identification process. IMPORTANT NOTICE!
On 8/18/08, Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) posted on their website that it is affiliated with US Club Soccer. Please be aware that only teams registered with Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and participating in an IYSA League are eligible to participate in the Midwest Regional League (MWRL), Illinois State Cup, US Youth Soccer National Championship series, Illinois Cup, National League, Director’s Cup and other IYSA events. If you want your team to play in any of these programs, ask the NISL to register your team with the IYSA in an IYSA league. Illinois Youth Soccer Association’s insurance does not cover teams that are not currently registered with the IYSA. Further, be advised that US Club insurance is not equivalent to that of the IYSA. The NISL disconnected its link to the IYSA website. This deprives players, coaches and parents from obtaining the latest information and updates regarding IYSA, USYSA and USSF events. However teams can access our website at www.illinoisyouthsoccer.org. Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) is an official State Association and charter member of the US Soccer Federation (USSF). Teams in league play are permitted guest players providing they come from the same club and are registered with the IYSA/USYSA.
Van Donation Needed For Inner City Program
The Chicago Pride, Illinois Youth Soccer's club team for low-income, at-risk children living in Chicago, is looking for a donation of a new or used van or mini-van to help transport participants to weekly games, practices and soccer activities. The CHA van, which had been used to transport these young athletes from throughout the city to and from their soccer responsibilities, is no longer available. Anyone interested is asked to contact the Illinois Youth Soccer office at 847-290-1577. Illinois Youth Soccer is a 501C3 non-profit corporation.
Open Tryout Rule Change
Effective February 3, 2007 the Open Tryout rule has changed as follows: "An open tryout may not be held prior to June 1st, with the exception for girls U15 and older teams which may not hold an open tryout prior to May 16th. A player does not require permission from his/her club team coach to attend an open tryout held during the period of June 1st through July 31st of the same calendar year, with the exception that girls trying out for U15 and older teams do not require permission from their club team coach to attend an open tryout held during the period May 16th through July 31st of the same calendar year. A club/team may not register/sign a player for the succeeding soccer year prior to June 1st."
