 Under 13 soccer Tuesday 14th October

This week the under 13 soccer team travelled to Saltus where we took control of the game early on and dominated the midfield. After a creating a few chances we eventually took the lead through a Shiloh Todd goal. Unfortunately we got caught out with a long hopeful ball from Saltus a few minutes later that bounced very kindly for them and before we knew it the game was all square. However, Delray Rawlins managed to restore our lead before halftime by squeezing the ball in at the near post after pouncing on a loose ball in the box.

We started the second half strongly and added to our lead after the Saltus goalkeeper mishandled a ball with Shiloh standing close by and he quickly seized the opportunity. After this good play we seemed to lose control of the midfield area as Saltus pushed forward in a desperate attempt to get back into the game. We defended well and rode our luck as Saltus laid seize to our goal for the last 15 minutes of the game. Eventually, we did concede a goal but it was way too late from Saltus’ point of view and we ran out 3-2 victors.

Again, it was a solid team performance but special mention has to go to the back four who worked incredibly hard throughout the game.
