IMPORTANT CONGRESSIONAL CUP FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT, Friday, August 29- 6:15PM- Please carefully review the information below regarding "parking restrictions" and a "very partial cancelation" for this weekend's Congressional Cup Festival........ After spending a good deal of time at the Polo Grounds this afternoon, a determination was made by the land owners that some areas of the parking lots would need to be closed due to extremely wet conditions (the parking areas are not paved). They did, however, determine that enough of the parking areas are still in decent enough shape to be able to use them tomorrow (the playing fields are in good shape). All coaches and managers must review the restrictions detailed below regarding the number of cars per team and the criticial need to drive gently at the site. Because of the diminished amount of available space to park, we regret that we must cancel a few of the age groups FOR SATURDAY ONLY. The following is the list of age groups that WILL NOT PLAY ON SATURDAY: U11G (please note that the combined U10/11G WILL play) U10B (please note that the combined U10/11B WILL play) GHS "A" GHS "B" BHS If your team is flighted in one of the tournament age groups listed above, your team will not be playing Saturday. A decision about the status for Sunday's games will be made later tonight or tomorrow. All teams participating in the Sunday portion of the event should continue to monitor email and this website for an announcement regarding the games on Sunday (we fully expect a partial cancelation). Please carefully review this following important information regarding restrictions at the Polo Grounds: * All U10 through U12 participating teams should bring no more than 6 vehicles per team to the site (carpooling is mandatory!). * All U13-U14 teams should bring no more than 8 vehicles per team to the site (carpooling is mandatory!). (If you can get everyone there with even fewer cars, thank you!) * All vehicles must drive very slowly on the Polo property, and absolutely avoid spinning tires! Coaches and managers should begin the process immediately of facilitating carpool arrangements for their team to meet the above restrictions. Additionally, we ask that all drivers of vehicles that come to the site use extreme care and caution when driving in the parking areas. Please keep speed at a minimum and park only in designated areas. It's also important to allow some extra time to make sure that we can get everyone parked and on the fields efficiently. We appreciate your patience as we strive to give as many of our teams as possible the opportunity to play. Fall 2008 Recreational Program schedules are now posted online. To access your team's schedule, please click on the "Programs" link above, followed by "Recreational" and then your team's age group. You can then find your team's schedule by clicking the links to each conference until you find the schedule that includes your coach's name at the top. If you are uncertain of the name of your coach, you can find it by clicking on the Fall 2008 player registration link (see below). You will then see a link entitled Fall 2008 Placement Status Information for Players. Click on this link to find out the name of the coach of the team on which your child has been placed. You will need your child's PIN number that is reflected on the registration receipt you received when you initially registered him or her.IMPORTANT NOTE: Kindergarten schedules will be posted on or around September 2. The kindergarten season starts on September 13. TO REGISTER FOR THE FALL 2008 RECREATIONAL PROGRAM ... PLEASE CLICK HERE Registration Note: Players who wish to pay with cash or check, or apply for financial aid, must register in person or contact the MSI office to obtain a registration form. Financial assistance requests must include a copy of the Montgomery County Public Schools Free and Reduced Meals (FARMS) program certificate. Returning players are guaranteed a place on their current team only if registered by midnight on June 30, 2008, after which all players, returning and new, are placed on a first-come, first-served basis.
