Crossfire Winter Cup
Canceled
Crossfire Premier’s desire in hosting the Winter Cup is to ensure the best experience for the players and teams. In reviewing the current applications and discussing the event with not only Crossfire’s coaches but also other clubs it has been decided that not enough interest exist at the current time to ensure a succesful event. Given this reality the event has been canceled and all registration fees are being refunded. Refunds will be made to the credit card charged. You should see this refund over the course of the next week. If for some reason this has not happened by 12/08/2008 please contact the LWYSA office.

(November 21, 2008) Congratulations to Crossfires B94A, G93Black and G94A teams for making it to the North American Super Y-League Finals. Crossfire G94A finished first in group play. Crossfire G94A Lombard lost in a well played semi final, 2-3 (PKs), to the CASL Railhawks, the eventual winners of the tournament. For all the results click on Super-Y

Winter Youth and Junior Academy

(November 19, 2008) Learn from the top Youth Soccer Club in the Northwest. The Crossfire Youth Academy goal is to create a learning environment for youth players that will sharpen skills and promote the “love of the game”. The seven week Academy includes a specific curriculum created by the Crossfire Premier Coaching Directors. The curriculum is tailored for youth who aspire to play competitively. Kate Bennett, Bellevue High School Varisty stand out and Crossfire Premier player, is in New Zealand making history, as the US plays its first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup match. Now they have made it to Final match against North Korea after beating Germany 2-1. The US team broke out of Group C (Japan 2-3, Paraguay 3-1, and France1-1) and Qtr Final against South Korea 4-2. Crossfire's Pre-USS Development Academy Training Program
Registration open to ALL Washington State Youth Soccer Players

(November 14, 2008) Professional Pre-US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) training from the licensed Crossfire Academy coaching staff. This second year program is designed for serious players wanting to play at the highest levels of youth soccer in the United States and are interested in the upcoming Crossfire USSDA 2009/10 season team. The program offers the Crossfire USSDA style of training and play in a ten week program held at Marymoor Park on Fridays from 5:30 to 7:00pm in January.
The Crossfire USSDA program is an opportunity to play in major tournaments and showcases, gain exposure to top D1 coaches and scouts, participate in Crossfire college workshops, and benefit from the Crossfire Academic Support Staff. Available to the following birth years BU13, BU14, BU15, & BU16. Boys Only. The Crossfire Pre-USSDA Program is limited to 70 players. Read more about Crossfire’s USSDA

Laura Andrea Hernandez with Colombia at U-17 Women's World Cup
Crossfire has 2 players in New Zealand at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Laura Andrea Hernandez of our girls ’90-A team, is playing for the Colombian U17 team. Laura is listed as Andrea Hernandez , #19, on Colombia’s roster. She has been training in Bogota since June. In the group stage, Columbia drew 1:1 with Denmark in their first game and 1:1 with Canada in their second. They play New Zealand on Nov. 4th. Laura looked into the opportunity last spring after her Crossfire teammate Adrianna Moya played with the Chilean U20 team until injured. You can follow all the action here.
LWYSA allowed to build more fields at 60 Acres
New Use Agreement Approved

The Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association will be allowed to build seven to nine soccer fields on the southern portion of Sixty Acres Park under a new 30-year agreement approved Monday by the Metropolitan King County Council. Crossfire G93A Red Bull fundraiser

(October 23, 2008) Crossfire G93A will be traveling to North Carolina for the Red Bull League in December and are looking to raise funds with Poinsettia sales for the holidays. They are taking orders now, with delivery expected just after Thanksgiving. These are #1 grade 6" pot Poinsettias in primarily RED, but also PINK & YELLOW. The plants are $15.00 each, but with an order of FIVE or more the price drops to just $13.00 each!!!

Crossfire's Kate Bennett makes U17 National Team

(October 20, 2008) Kate Bennett, Bellevue High School Player and Crossfire Premier player, makes the U17 US Women’s National team. She will attend the U17 World Cup which starts next Tuesday in New Zealand. Three weeks ago, Bennett left the Wolverines to practice with the boys team at the Crossfire Premier Academy. The move gave her more advanced training before the most recent national team camp, where she impressed enough to get selected for the World Cup squad. Read the full article in The Seattle Times.

Crossfire's Justi Baumgardt-Yamada honored

(October 14, 2008) On Tuesday, Crossfire coach Justi Baumgardt-Yamada, was inducted into the Federal Way High School Hall of Fame. Her number 7 jersey was retired in honor of her achievements not only while at Federal Way High school, but also because of her outstanding college and professional career. Some of Coach Justi’s high school achievements include, leading the Eagles to 2 State Championships, most career goals and assists (a record that still stands).

Keyln Rowe a player on Crossfire’s US Soccer Development Academy team was recently in the local newspaper. On the surface, Rowe is just another in what is becoming a long line of talented players to come out of the Seattle area and Crossfire. The Seattle-area youth club has had Ellis McLoughlin, Preston Zimmerman. Keenay Gracey, and Spencer Richey pass through its program in recent years; they have gone on to play professionally in Europe. Read the full article at Seattle PI

2009 NIKE Crossfire Challenge Dates Announced

(October 12, 2008) Crossfire Premier is pleased to announce that the “2009 NIKE CROSSFIRE CHALLENGE” Soccer Tournament will be held over two weekends in July. The first weekend, Saturday, July 11 - Monday, July 13, will be girls U10 to U19. The second weekend, Saturday, July 18 - Monday, July 20 will be boys U10 to U19. Registration and activities will start Friday afternoon, July 10 and 17, respectively. Application details available soon.

Crossfire Joins Adopt-A-Highway Program

(October 5, 2008) Crossfire is pleased to announce it has joined forces with King County’s Adopt-a-Highway program!! We have adopted a stretch of road on 124th St. in Kirkland between Willows and Woodinville-Redmond road. Players and coaches from Crossfire’s Academy participated in cleaning up 124th on Sunday.

Crossfire Individual Training
Crossfire Individual Training (CIT) is a program specially designed to provide an opportunity for motivated players of all ages and abilities to work one on one or in small groups with a dedicated coach on a scheduled and pre-purchased basis. The goal of this program is to provide the best and most cutting edge soccer training available, focusing on improving both skills and techniques. THE COACHES CORNER Crossfire discount store
Crossfire discount store Monday to Thursday 10am to 2pm
The store is in the LWYSA offices. All merchandise is discounted, some up to 70%. The store is a self serve shop; you must fill out the sales receipt listing merchandise to be purchased to complete the sale. ONLY cash and checks are accepted for payment. All proceeds go towards the LWYSA Capital Development Fund. This fund is used for field and goal expenses benefiting all programs and age groups within LWYSA.
