Goal to Recycle at a Park Near You!!
We recycle in our homes, school and at work, so why not recycle
where we
play? Shawnee’s Pilot Park Recycling Program will make it easy for
park
visitors to recycle at Stump and Swarner Park this fall. Visitors
are asked
to place their aluminum cans and plastic bottles in the bright blue
recycling containers, next to the trash containers. Please be
careful not
to contaminate the blue recycling containers by placing trash in
them. Once
contamination has occurred, the recyclable materials can no longer
be
processed and will be put in the landfill with all of the other
trash. When
tossing those water bottles or soda cans at City parks, choose blue
and
choose recycling as an option, do your part to create a more
Sustainable
Shawnee!
