IFFC Kicks Off At Last!; Here We Go Again! |
|
The IFFC finally kicks off this weekend with action in the IFFC Cup first and second rounds to look forward to. The Bs are up against old rivals, Azzurri on Sunday, while the As have a first round bye. On Sunday the As will face the victors of the first round clash between Celtics Gold and Summer Palace. The Bs, if they get through will have a very tough second round match against IFFC old boys Fortuna.
ItĄ¯s been a long old summer, although thanks to the distraction of the Olympics itĄ¯s not been as long as usual. Of course, the management teams have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure everything and everyone is raring to go by the time we kick off. Plenty of emails have gone out and several changes to said management team have taken place.
First, I am very happy to announce that Phil Heggli has accepted the invitation to take up the role of Vice-Chairman. Phil and I will work very closely together in future to ensure that the Club can be all it can be, focusing on building a stronger relationship between our two squads. Another new addition to our team has been the appointment of BarbariansĄ¯ old boy Matt Arnold to A team Social Secretary. He will also be working closely with Phil and his name-sake on the Bs, in order to build the ClubĄ¯s spirit. There are several other positions available still, however, on both A and B teams. Please email me if you are interested!!! Visit the BarbariansĄ¯ Organisation Chart to learn more.
Lastly, just want to give a BIG UP to A team Manager, Richard Collett and his darling wife as they welcome to this world their first child. Rumour has it, however, that while at the hospital Richard was shown a red card for fowl language. An incident he of course denies ;-D
The Club is also, of course, on the lookout for new players. Anyone interested in becoming a member of our Club should email us and we will provide more information, and invite you along to our next match. |
