Law 8 - The Start and Restart of Play
There seems to be some confusion with the above rule. To clarify.

"A coin is tossed and the team which wins the toss, decides which goal it will attack in the first half of the match.

The other team takes the kick off to start the match.

The team which wins the toss takes the kick off to start the second half of the match.

In the second half of the match the teams change ends and attack the opposite goals."

AT NO POINT DOES THE REFEREE DECIDE WHO KICKS OFF OR WHO CHOOSES ENDS.

Notice for all managers.
The fixtures and results service does not assume that due to the poor weather, a match has not been played. All games that have been postponed due to the weather MUST be reported as such. The first weekend of the fixtures saw 10 matches unreported. From this weekend those 10 would have received a fine.
