Fabio Cannavaro wins the Golden Ball, mostly due to his performance at the World Cup in Germany this year.
I have to disagree, though, and say that, if it were to be an Italian, at least it should have been Buffon, who was the one that almost dragged the Italian team to the final.

Here are some interesting things about the World Cup that just ended:
* In terms of accuracy, nobody did better than Henry. He landed 13 shots on goal (from only 16 attempts in all) with Cristiano Ronaldo and Klose both on 12.
