In November, BRSA President Terry Jones announced he was stepping down as President of the Baton Rouge Soccer Association due to the relocation of his job to New Orleans. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Terry and the executive committee of the BRSA Board of Directors met to discuss the transition to a new Board president.
The executive committee recommended the nomination of current Board member Bob Johannessen to fill Terry’s unexpired term (Terry was in the first six months of his second two-term). Bob accepted the nomination, and at the Nov. 10 meeting of the full Board, he was unanimously approved as the next BRSA president.
In announcing that he was stepping down, Terry said, “It is with much regret that I must resign from the BRSA board. My job change simply does not allow me to give BRSA the time and attention it deserves and requires.”
The BRSA membership and its Board of Directors wish Terry success and the best of luck in his new responsibilities, and offer full support to Bob as our new president.

Coed League Open/O30 Registrations will open on November 22nd. You can register on line at our web site or come by the office, and/or you can print the mailable form under registration and mail it in with a check. New Team Registration due in the office with a $100.00 Bond by or before the December 8th, 2008 Late fee starts for the returning players on December 22nd.
Teams must have minimum 11 players on the roster by December 28th to be included in the schedules. Leagues starts January 4th
Winter coed plays 6 games on sunday afternoons, Summer coed plays 10 games week evenings.

BRSC had numerous players play in pool games at ODP camp this summer. The club, also, had four players make the Region III Pool consisting of the top players in the 12 southern states. Congratulations to Keely Davis, Ricky Lawrence, Hannah Jobe, and Emily Cancienne!

BRSA was recently awarded the 2010 region 3 soccer championships. The tournament will bring in 184 of the top U14-U19 teams in the region to Baton Rouge
