Tividale F.C. was originally founded as the senior branch of Tividale Hall Youth Club F.C, playing in the Handsworth and District League from 1953–1968.Tividale F.C entered the senior league from 1956–1960. After two years without any league football, they joined the Warwickshire & West Midlands Alliance & had four highly successful seasons until 1966, when they joined the newly formed West Midlands (Regional) League, Division One.
In 1973 they won the Division One League and League Cup double gaining promotion into the Premier Division. 1974 saw Tividale move to their current ground in Packwood Road, naming it “The Beeches”, after the British Waterways Official who granted the lease to the club.
The early years in the Premier Division were amongst the most successful in the club’s history. In 1975–1976the club enjoyed a superb F.A. Cup run reaching the 4th round, only to lose 3–2 at A.P. Leamington. In 1977 they won the Premier Division League Cup beating Alvechurch 1–0, and in the same season they won the Wednesbury Charity Cup.
During the 1980’s the club’s fortunes waned, and despite finishing runners-up in the Walsall Senior Cup in 1984 and finishing 6th in the Premier Division in 1985. Unfortunately a run of poor seasons followed. In 1991 the Manager and several players left the Club, and after four months the Club brought back Terry Jones who had managed the club in the 70’s. In 1992 he guided Tividale to 3rd place in Division One, a season which saw the much needed floodlights erected. In 1993 Tividale finished Division One runners up and gained promotion back to the Premier Division, unfortunately this was also the year that the Midland Alliance was formed, and so in reality we were back to where we started.
Since then there have been giant strides on and off the pitch, with the 2001/2002 season proving to be one of Tividale’s most successful for a long time with us finishing as runner’s up in both the West Midland {Regional} League Premier Division and the Walsall Senior Cup. In the 2002/2003 season Tividale again reached the Walsall Senior Cup Final, this time beating Rochester 1–0 after extra time. Tividale introduced a Under 15’s side in the 2005/2006 season which completed their league and cup double, and a Veteran’s side that were runners up in the final of their cup competition all in their first season’s. The 2006/2007 season saw Tividale add a Under 18’s side in the Midland Youth Floodlight League. A Under 16’s & Under 12's sides in the Midland Junior Premier League and under 11’s in the Stourbridge youth League. Added to that is the building of the new changing rooms, Boardroom and the Social Club completely refurbished, which makes Tividale one of the bigger club’s in the West Midland (Regional) League, and it doesn’t stop there. Even now the work is ongoing, with the hard standing and a 300 seater stand, Tividale have met the Midland Alliance criteria and are now aiming to get the ground up to Doc Martens standard.
