Lionel Messi says he’s not sad despite not winning the Ballon d’Or, which went to Cristiano Ronaldo. The Argentinean ace claimed he wasn’t that interested in the prize, adding the most valuable thing is to have a great squad. He says, "I was not ever worried about the Ballon d'Or, much less now.” "Fortunately things are going well me, but I always say that the most important thing is to keep doing well for the team and to win many titles. Messi believes he’s plenty of chance to win the prize in the future as he’s just 21 years old. "I am only 21 years old and I have left many things to do in football."
Messi confirmed to play against Sporting - 2008-11-25
Messi has been confirmed to play Wednesday (Nov. 26) for the Champion League match against Sporting Lisbon. Barca coach Pep Guardiola decided to included the Argentinean striker after he was left out in the last clash agasint Getafe because of an injury. Guardiola said, "Messi is a necessary player, a special player, a very good player... but I've got others.” He added, “Now we need to rest a bit and get ready for Wednesday's game to try to secure top spot in the group."

Barcelona continues with its success, beating 2-0 Recreativo Huelva on Sunday (November 16). Lionel Messi marked the seventh goal of the season, and Seydou Keita did the rest to make the ninth victory of the Blaugrana in La Liga. The Argentinean addressed the effort to all the squad. “The credit belongs to everyone in the team,” Messi said afterwards. “These three points will encourage us even further to continue working hard,” he added.

very early age for his hometown club, Newell's Old Boys. From
the age of 11, he suffered from a hormone deficiency and as his
parents were unable to pay for treatment in Argentina, they
decided to move to Barcelona, Spain. Shortly after arriving,
Lionel tried his luck with a trial at FC Barcelona, despite
