Attention all Parents, Coaches, and players! The CVSOA is offering a referee clinic in December. This course is designed specifically teach prospective referees the laws of the game and teh mechanics of refereeing, but it is also a great opportunity for Coaches, players over age 12, and parents to improve their knowledge of the game whether they want to referee or not.
Figure out why that obvious push wasn't called, when a player is really offsides, when hand ball should be called, and the answers to many other great mysteries of Soccer!

The November/December Execuitive Board Meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 7:15 at Orchard Hill Church. The primary agenda item will be to set the timeline for 2009.
_________________________________________________________________ Operation Recycle Cleats
Do you have gently used soccer cleats or shin guards just lying around the house collecting dust?
Why not put them to good use by recycling them!
Swap them for another pair or just turn them in for another soccer player to use.

Game Cancellations Due to Weather or 'Suspected' Weather Problems
Decisions on cancelling games due to weather conditions come from different sources depending on where the games will be played. For games at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex (CVSC) in Waterloo, the CVSC fields director makes that call and the notification will be on the website as soon as it's decided (Complex Status indicator on the main page). Always be sure to check the Complex Status the day of your game (or the hour before your game) unless a special announcement is made in advance. Just because it is closed one day, (i.e. Friday) does not mean it will be closed for the whole weekend. For games at other sites/communities - it is up to those communities to make that call. The coaches should be in contact with each other. The coaches will then communicate with the team parents. The League does not decide unilaterally on cancelling all games.
