Chirstine assists on 2 goals in the USA's 3-0 win over England in the U20 World Cup Quaterfinals.

Tiffany McCarty (Florida State University / Freestate Shooters) was awarded Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman Player of the Year and All-ACC Freshman Team Honors.

The ACC is considered the premier conference in the country.

To help players prepare for the upcoming ODP tryouts Freestate will conduct 2 sessions on Monday, November 17 and 24, 5:30-7:00pm at Murtaugh or Huston Field.

Pre-registration $25 per player / $35 non-Freestate player.

Freestate is excited to announce its acceptance as the only youth soccer club in Maryland into the prestigious Red Bull National Girls League (www.redbullnl.com).

The league has changed the landscape of elite girls soccer in the United States.  For the 2008/2009 season, the club will enter the U15 (Fury) and the U17 (Phoenix - MD State Cup Champions).

“This is another honor and example that our club is moving in the right direction and we are privileged to be apart of this elite group of 32 clubs across the nation.  This will provide Freestate players the opportunity to compete against the best players and teams in the country year round; and provide them with maximum exposure to college coaches.” said Steve Campbell, Co-Director of Coaching.

Jeremy Raley (Freestate Elite U17B) was selected to the Adidas ESP All-Star Team.

Martin Sanchez (Freestate Elite U17B) was named 2008 Eastern Shore Independent Athlectic Conference (ESIAC) Player of the Year - Worchester High School.

Jeremy Raley, Eli Dennis, Martin Sanchez, and Cody Albrecht (Freestate Elite U17B) will represent the ODP Region 1 Team in the interregional tournament in Disney.

Jocelyn McCoy (Freestate Fury) was named National Player of the Week for her efforts as GK for Spalding High School (ESPNRISE.com)

Jackie D’Orsaneo  (Freestate X-Treme ’08) was named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week, October 20.

Nicci D’Orsaneo (Freestate X-Treme ’08) received Honorable Mention for CACC All Conference Player as a Freshman.

Annie Hay and Annabelle Jimenez (Freestate United ’00) were selected to the WPS combine in hopes of playing in the new women’s professional league

Kelly Hammond (Freestate Fury U11 Coach) and Ashly Kennedy (Freestate Elite U14 Asst. Coach) will also be participating in the combine.

Program will be offered for U9-U13 and U14-U18 players.  All sessions will be at the SkateZone, Crofton on Saturday mornings starting January 10, 2009 for 8 consecutive weeks.

For players 6-9 years old.  Beginning Monday, January 5, 2009 for 8 consecutive sessions at the Skatezone, Crofon, 4:30-5:45pm.  The clinic mixes skill and concept development and small-sided games.

Children entering the game at the youngest age level should participate in the game of soccer in a format that is both fun and better suited to their development.  The international soccer community has embraced a small-sided games approach as the best way to intoduce the game to children.

PORTLAND, Maine (July 1, 2008) – Memories were made and champions were crowned at the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships on July 1st. The top teams in Region I came together this week with one goal, and that was to take their crown at the US Youth Soccer Region I Championship and advance to Little Rock, Arkansas for the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The Freestate United U19 were crowned champions.

Not only were we recently ranked in the top 25 clubs in the US, but Sarah Chapman, Tiffany McCarty, and Christine Nairn were selected for the 2008 Parade All-American team.  Congratulations ladies! 

It was a great weekend for Freestate in the 2008 Maryland State Cup Finals.   Four teams from the club represented Maryland at the USYSA Regional Tournament in Maine, June 26-July 1.  The teams played great soccer and were deserving champions.  Thank you to all the other Freestate players, families and friends wearing Freestate gear and showing their support.  Congratulations - we are very proud!

Congratulations to Jose Benitez (Coach U15B Arsenal and U12B Ajax) on being named MSYSA 2008 Coach of the Year.

Soccer America has published the ranking of the top youth clubs in the Country. Freestate has been ranked in the top 25 for the second consecutive year.

Criteria
Soccer America selects the top 25 clubs, based on success of their teams in national youth championships over the last three years and national recognition for players (including U.S. national youth team selections, NSCAA/adidas Youth All-Americans and U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Interregional All-Stars) from these clubs in 2007.

FREESTATE SA. The Freestate Shooters, the top team in Maryland’s Freestate Soccer Association, won their first national title in 2007 when they captured the U-17 Super Group at U.S. Club Soccer’s National Cup VI. Two Shooters played Division I college ball in 2007 and 12 others have committed to Division I programs in 2008 and 2009. Rising Stars: Lyndse Hakonson and Janice Johnson of the Phoenix played for Region I in the ’92 Interregionals group.
